Collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario
This is a six-part work which consists of:
a) Two colour photographic details of found damaged landscape paintings. The actual paintings are part of a 1986 work titled The Damage is Done.
b) A black and white photograph of a still of a woman being stabbed in the back by a nun from Georges Franju's 1963 film Judex. The photo is cut in half vertically, and the two sections placed between the two colour photographs.
c) Two pleximounted photostats of text selected from American artist Anne Truitt's book entitled Daybook - The Journal of an Artist which are placed one below each of the two colour photographs. Other selections of text from her book are printed across each section of the black and white photograph of the central film still.
