Collection of the Winnipeg Art Gallery
This is a four-part work made up of:
a) A framed watercolour painting by an unknown artist of my grandmother as a young woman.
b) A photostatic enlargement of a black & white photograph of me placed below the painting of my grandmother.
c) A still from a 1917 Abel Gance film of a woman standing in front of a framed painting of another woman, each having a similar look and pose for the viewer.
d) A still from a 1944 Fritz Lang film noir of the reflected image of a woman looking at a framed painting of herself.
The film stills are placed one on each side of the images of my grandmother and myself.
