These works include photographs by other people that I took from various sources such as books on early photography or books on historical and documentary photography. Some of the photographs are from magazines and newspapers and some are family photographs. I altered the original photographs by changing their size or colour, removing original text or adding text from other sources. I incorporated these photographs into a new context with other elements such as paintings and text.

All the images of film stills that I incorporated into my works are taken from books on films. I did not see the films before I chose the images because I did not want to be influenced by the surrounding narrative of the film. The film stills become another element in the larger context of the final works. These works included painting, photography and text. Sometimes the work also included a material work made by another artist.
